Marg & Luna
︎

Marg & Luna is a small London-based ceramics studio creating one-of-a-kind handbuilt stoneware pottery. Each piece is shaped by hand rather than thrown on the wheel, allowing the clay to retain the subtle marks and fingerprints of the making process.

The studio is shared with Luna, a young African grey parrot and enthusiastic studio companion who  spends her days flying, chirping, playing, and supervising the work (at a safe distance from the clay).

The work centres tactility and the intimate connection between maker and object. Because every piece is shaped by hand, the surface often preserves the gentle impressions of touch, traces that make the pieces feel alive in the hand, as if the warmth of the maker still lingers in the clay.
Each piece is finished using layered reactive glazes that are brushed on by hand, a slow and deliberate process that allows colours to flow and transform in the kiln. These glazes create soft movements of colour, intricate, and subtle variations that ensure every piece is entirely unique.

Ceramics carry a quiet paradox: they are fragile in the moment, yet capable of lasting thousands of years. Long after we are gone, someone may uncover a fragment of clay and wonder who made it, how it was used, and what stories it once held. Marg & Luna ceramics are made with that same sense of time: small, tactile objects meant to be used, held, and lived with.
